After graduating from Eindhoven Design Academy is 1993 Hella Jongerius created her own design studio, Jongeriuslab, where she has worked for a diverse group of clients from Vitra to Ikea. On the 17th of November Christie's will be hosting an auction of The Sean Berg Collection. Among the 140 lots for sale, DeTnk recommends watching two lots from Jean Prouvé.
During late 2008 and early 2009 Prouvé's auction prices dropped slightly. However since then his works have been selling for 70-50% over the estimated value. With one piece on auction November 9th at Sotheby's and two in this sale at Christie's we will see if Prouvé's work can continue reaching such high values.

British artist Andrew Lord is showing a retrospective of his thirty year career at MK Gallery. During his early career Lord focused his work on creating a series of vessels which explore the use of narrative and play in designed objects. He uses a variety of materials including clay, plaster, beeswax and bronze.

Twin brothers, Jason and Lars Dressler begin their design process by focusing on craft; building upon their knowledge of materials and technique they create custom bespoke collectables by hand at their wood-shop in Toronto, Canada.
Spring Projects presents The Crate Series by Studio Makkink & Bey. The Crate Series re-defines functional, ordinary objects by infusing them with new narratives. Shipping crates usually used for temporary storage and freight are transformed into containers for living, domestic cabinets rich in details. The result plays with our ideas of value; the container becomes a content, a by-product is metamorphosed into the product.

On the 20th of November the design world will gather in Saint-Etienne, a French town near Lyon for the International Design Biennial.
This year eight curators have collected a series of design projects that explore themes from altered states of consciousness to designing for mobile cities.
The Parisian design dyad Claude Lalanne have once again exceeded the valuers expectations. It was estimated that their work Pomme Bouche Sculpture sell between £8,000-£12,000.
At the end of the October 26th Auction, the hammer struck at £39,650 - four times the estimated value.
