ALEX MICHAELIS IS an archetypal London architect. Linen shirt, strong hands, zipping from desk to desk in his former-church-hall office with its industrial lighting, white desks and parquet flooring.
This book is conceived as an intimate look into the creative, personal, and often secretive lives of Rick Owens and his wife, muse, and collaborator, Michele Lamy. Known for his self-described “grunge meets glamour” style, Owens showed his first furniture collection in Paris in 2007.
A seminal figure in 20th-century design, the Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass (1917–2007) created a vast body of work, the result of an exceptionally productive career that spanned more than six decades.

Housing is scarce – that much has become evident in the last few years. As real estate prices in big cities continue to skyrocket, conventional ideas of housing development prove unable to meet demands. The reaction to these challenges has been a silent revolution in contemporary architecture – towards collective building and living.
In Nepal, the renowned Tibetan style rugs have traditionally been made from Tibetan highland sheep wool, which is an abundant and important resource. The rugs are generally woven with an intricate knotting method specific to the region.
Continuing the Museum’s collaboration with contemporary artists of all disciplines, the category-defying works of Robert Stadler (Austria, b. 1966) are installed in tandem with Noguchi’s sculptures, raising as many aesthetic, functional, and philosophical questions as possible.
A part of an ongoing series on collecting design, which is produced in conjunction with a program at the New York School of Interior Design “Collecting Design: History, Collections, Highlights,” this film focuses on American furniture maker and designer Paul Evans.
