W Hotel Leister Square is hosting the Wow Bikes fundraiser for the Elton John Aids Foundation. Six bikes have been commissioned to be designed by iconic creatives such as Ron Arad, Paloma Faith, and Temperley.

Nendo presents a solo show at the Taiwanese government-sponsored National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute featuring two of their collections. ‘thin black lines’ is a collection of furniture formed from ‘still black’, so nendo wanted to use ‘active black on white’ for the exhibition space.

Rethink LA, a collaboration of forward- thinking volunteers in the Los Angeles architecture, planning, motion graphics and design community, are exhibiting August 4 - September 4 2011 at the A+D Museum.
Thonet today, as in the past, is considered a pioneer of furniture design throughout the world.
The company was established in 1819 by Michael Thonet to produce his own designs, using the then new bentwood process, which he developed. Within a short period of time it became a major furniture manufacturer with a global distribution network.

LEGO commissioned the designer, Sebastian Bergne, to create a public installation using the iconic bricks, as part of the London Design Festival 2011. Entitled the “LEGO Greenhouse”, this large-scale installation will be on display in the North Piazza, Covent Garden from 15th to 25th September 2011.
