The ScribbleLamp is formed by a single cloth-sheathed cord threaded through a punctured frame. The cord functions both as the energy conduit for the bulb and as the scrim, casting a frenzy of shadows.
Thout has also created a similar more serene version called the SpoolLamp.
The originality of this wall light lies in its simplicity. Its construction is particularly ingenious: the ‘Plic' is made of a round bulb equipped with a lateral reflector and electronic dimmer.
The light is designed like a torch which can be attached to different places with a spring-clip.
Whether in steel or wood, the Arrow Stool challenges our notion of materiality while testing the limits of these two materials.
Appearing as though it were created from a folded sheet of paper, projecting a very thin and fragile character, the Arrow Stool is stable enough to sit on and comfortable to boot.

The Doily Chair was an exploration in designing a new furniture piece utilizing an outdated object. The new composite linen doily has found its home supported on a wide walnut chair frame.
The recontextualized doily provokes images of grannies and formal parlours of the past yet maintains its contemporary proportions and usage.
This mystical lighting system was by far one of the more intriguing designs to showcase in the Satellite.
The design, consisting of single geometric modules attached to one another through magnetic contacts, is a prime example of a modular lighting system that really works.
Skinned Tables is a design system by Peter Marigold that is the result of studio experiments looking at the quality of negative space and the process of mould making as a passive process of surface (rather than mass) replication.
These striking objects evoke a sense of creativity and imagination while celebrating the basic qualities of materials and processes.
Pursuing a philosophy of “breaking the rules of the plane” by cutting and manipulating sheet materials so they possess volume, this light’s floral form clearly succeeds at this task. In this case, paper sheets were used to generate the light’s flowing, floral form.
Conceived out of a desire to bring a sense of nostalgia and playfulness into the adult world, the Swing Lamp by BCXSY is the perfect combination of light and play for any garden setting.
Never again feel alone in the dark!
Using old-growth Dutch elm wood cut as a result of elm disease, the top edge of the drawer front on this cabinet has been left untouched by the designer. This elegant gesture recalls the natural shape of the tree to create a piece with a memory of its origin.
Room For Improvement
A stretch from your ordinary run of the mill light bulb, these handcrafted crystal light blubs, designed by Pieke Bergmans in cooperation with Royal Leerdam Crystal and Solid Lighting, have taken on all kinds of forms and sizes.
Causing its fair share of double takes, 'Temporary' Table Lamp by Tetsuo Shibuya was one of the highlights of this years Salone Satellite in Milan.
Designed to appear as though it is held in place by a simple piece of packing tape, this simple table lamp brings a sense of cleverness and playfulness into the world of everyday household items.
Although grand, this inflatable table, big enough to accommodate 10 guests when inflated, is small enough to fit in a duffel bag when deflated.
Four small tables · Each one individual but belonging to the group · Deconstructing the idea of a table as a table · Can be combined in constellations ever changing · Creating informal living situations· Diversity in unity. [2006]
