Ready Made Go 3 will see a focus on sustainable and recycled materials: Smile Plastic, a sheet material created from recycled plastics, will be used by Michael Marriott in a design for high café stools. James Shaw will make cake display stands and countertop accessories for Ace Hotel’s Bulldog Edition café using Plastic Baroque, an extruded recycled plastic technique that Shaw has developed himself in his South London studio. Design duo Soft Baroque are creating a series of coffee tables for the Hotel’s lobby using an innovative new Silicastone material; Alusid, made from waste ceramics and glass.
James Shaw will also create a temporary installation at the entrance of Ace Hotel London using his Plastic Baroque technique for the duration of London Design Festival.
