TEFAF Art and Design Fair New York Spring 2017
4-8 May '17
Held at the historic Park Avenue Armory, it provides the world's leading art dealers the opportunity to meet with curators and collectors at a prime Manhattan location. Its timing in early May is also deliberate: to coincide with the other fairs, auctions and exhibitions dedicated to modern and contemporary art and design held in New York at the same time.
Tom Postma Design - a design firm celebrated for its innovative work in museums, galleries and art fairs - has developed a groundbreaking showcase withing Park Avenue Armory, which interplays with the historic spaces yet creates a look and feel for the fair that is entirely contemporary.
TEFAF New York Spring 2017 is the second of two new, annual fairs that TEFAF is bringing to New York and will be held from 4-8 May.
Founded by art dealers in 1988 and run as a non-profit foundation, TEFAF has a proud history of showcasing masterpieces in every category of art and design – from antiques, Old Masters and Haute Joaillerie to contemporary painting, works on paper and 20th-century design. The most recent edition of TEFAF Maastricht, in March 2016, featured 275 of the world’s top galleries and welcomed 75,000 visitors from more than 60 countries.
TEFAF is unrivalled in the rigor with which it checks the quality, authenticity and condition of the works of art on sale at its fairs. Using the latest technical equipment, its vetting committee scrutinizes every item to be presented, so buyers at TEFAF can feel entirely confident that any object offered to them at TEFAF has passed through the hands and under the eyes of leading international experts.
