Studio Buster + Punch Design
from motorcycles to lighting and beyond
Buster + Punch started in a small garage in East London, where Architect Massimo Buster Minale and his collaborators created everything from light fittings to motorcycles, furniture to leather jackets.
Named after the hand-machines brass hook, Buster + Punch introduce their debut lighting collection, HOOKED, which was conceived as an exploration of ‘the darker side of life’. Minale shares that “we expressed our personality the only way we knew how – by elevating the ordinary into the extraordinary”. Drawing inspiration from motorcycles and 1980’s rockstars, the lighting collection stands as a testament to Minale’s vision.
The collection was originally developed as a way to customize lighting placement and is made up of simple brass pendants and fixtures with bronzed gunmetal shades, all of which can be suspended from the ceiling or a wall mount. An original reinterpretation is offered through subtle references to Harley tires through matte rubber details or the volume knobs on a Gibson; collectively creating a dark and gritty aesthetic. A timeless statement on the art of modern design and traditional craftsmanship; there is no doubt that their charismatic designs surpass all notions of the ordinary.
Buster + Punch have certainly made their mark in the international design community and are sure to only go from strength to strength.
