The Australian designer Charles Trevelyan initially studied materials engineering, majoring in physics and chemistry. This led him to explore the properties of ceramics, glass, plastics and composites. His scientific training does not seem to have been enough as he completed it with a year at the Beaux-Arts where he learned sculpture, three dimensional design and graphics.
