Industry Gallery presents the second solo exhibition of work by New York City-based designer Chris Rucker. For Rucker’s solo debut in Los Angeles, he has created a new series of his Quilt Slipcover Chairs–hand-sewn quilts made from packing blankets, tailored to fit over his basic chairs fabricated from oriented strand board (OSB).

With a background in art and construction, New York-based designer Chris Rucker has devised a series of furniture pieces made entirely out of strand board.
Using the cheap construction sheathing, Rucker fuses quality construction methods with inexpensive and unorthodox materials, effectively exposing the material itself as a major component of the work’s aesthetic.
