This winter, the Serpentine presents an exhibition of paintings and drawings by renowned architect Zaha Hadid (1950-2016). Zaha Hadid is regarded as a pioneering and visionary architect whose contribution to the world of architecture was ground-breaking and innovative.
Exhibitions are planned in London and Rome to celebrate the life and work of Zaha Hadid in buildings that the late architect designed, while her archive is due to stay in London.

The first woman to be awarded architecture's highest honour, the Pritzker Prize, she designed the Aquatic Centre for London 2012, Glasgow's Riverside Museum and has twice won the Stirling Prize - first for the MAXXI museum in Rome and secondly for her design for the Grace Academy school in Brixton, London. She recently became the first woman in her own right to receive the RIBA Gold Medal.
Zaha Hadid’s Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan has won the Design Museum Design of the Year Award 2014. Hadid is the first ever woman to win the top prize in the competition, now in its seventh year.
Beirut
Nilufar Gallery, in collaboration with Galerie Balice Hertling, presents the 3rd SQUAT Edition in Beirut. SQUAT is an innovative concept that combines design, art and architecture giving life to new original high standard domestic landscapes.
Zaha Hadid’s highly anticipated £14.5m extension of the Serpentine Gallery opens to the public on Saturday. Housed in a former gunpowder depot, the new Serpentine Sackler Gallery is a seven-minute walk from the main gallery.
Belgrade
The new contemporary development at the location of the former Beko textile factory, designed by Zaha Hadid, will mark the continuance of Belgrade’s signature “Modernist” movement, which was abruptly discontinued in the 1980s.
Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Museum of Art will host the first exhibition in the United States to feature Zaha Hadid's product design.
