The Frank Lloyd Gallery is hosting a ceramics exhibition as curated by Frank Gehry, world renowned architect of the 20th and 21st century. The exhibition showcases Gehry's ceramics teacher and role model Glen Lukens, who introduced Gehry to the world of architecture.
Recognizing Gehry's interest in architecture, Lukens introduced Gehry to archiec Raphael Soriano and brought him on site to different projects. Since that time in his life, Gehry has mainained an interest in ceramics and collects works by various ceramic artists.
The exhibition includes works chosen by Gehry created by people he knows and respects. It shows a variety of approaches to ceramic art from the viewpoint of arguably the most celebrated architect of the last 30 years. The unique show integrates ceramics with art and architecture of Southern California for a unique experience.
