London
This month, the Barbican Art Gallery in London is opening "The Surreal House", a unique exhibition that places art, design, architecture, and film together to create a mysterious dwelling and labyrinth of chambers designed by Carmody Groarke architechts.
"The Surreal House" has haunted rooms, bizarre forms, unique architecture, and cinematic dreamscapes produced with the input of numerous artists, architects and film makers. The show will feature important works by Salvador Dali, Marcel Duchamp, Alberto Giacometti, Rene Magritte, and Man Ray, among others. More contemporary contributors include Louise Bourgeois, Rebecca Horn, Edward Kienholz, and Rem Koolhaas.
The exhibition aims to both enchant and disturb its viewers. During its run, the Barbican will host a series of surreal performances, talks, and artists' films every Thursday until 10pm to add to this distinctive experience.
