On-Site Studio With Martino Gamper

Wright welcomes designer, innovator and mastermind Martino Gamper to Chicago May
14th–17th during Wright’s Important Design auction preview. Gamper will create a
series of unique and functional pieces of furniture utilizing cast-off shipping
materials, crates, and discarded furniture and objects found in Wright’s warehouse.

Part performance, part workshop, Gamper’s process welcomes experimentation,
spontaneity and interaction: Gamper’s on-site studio will be open to the public and
all are invited to meet the artist and watch while he works. Gamper’s project will
culminate in two events: a studio party the evening of May 16th and an installation
of his completed furniture in Wright’s auction room during the Important Design
auctions on May 18th and 20th.

Beginning 14th May, www.wright20.com will feature daily updates, streaming
video and photography documenting Gamper’s work in progress.
