Designer Selects At The Cooper Hewitt

Acclaimed jewelry and decorative object designer, Ted Muehling will serve as the tenth guest curator of the “Selects” exhibition series at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York City this week.
The “Selects” series was developed by the museum in order to ensure the continual rotation and viewing of their vast permanent collection. Muehling’s exhibition, which opens on 23 April and will remain on view into the Autumn, will feature recent acquisitions of rare glass from J. & L. Lobmeyr of Vienna, Austria.
L. Lobmeyr is a sixth generation, family owned business renowned for quality and innovation in their crystal and glass works. The 160 objects that will make up Muehling’s exhibition date from 1835 to the present day offering a history of the firm as well as the development of central European glassmaking.
