‘Subjects’: Work by Niels van Eijk & Miriam van der Lubbe

In April, at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair, acclaimed designers Niels van Eijk and Miriam van der Lubbe will show a retrospective exhibition of their works from 1998-2010. The show, entitled ‘Subjects’, will offer visitors a unique, behind-the-scenes look into their projects through a series of models, sketches, concept drawings and experiments.
Between 1998 and 2010, van Eijk and van der Lubbe worked for many of the world’s top design brands and institutions including Habitat, Droog, Firedman Gallery New York, Skitch, Moooi, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, to name a few. Works like their ‘Cow Chair’, seen above, have become icons of the last decade.
‘Subjects’ will premiere in Milan in coorelation with the publication of a monograph of their work by the same name. This text illustrates and discusses the huge scope of van Eijk and van der Lubbe’s career. Below is a first look at the book.
