NOW: Art of the 21st Century Sale

On the 6th of March, Phillips de Pury & Company in New York will hold the auction house’s second NOW themed sale. This upcoming sale will offer a cross section of the most exciting contemporary art, design and photography to be created since the new millenium.
Highlight design pieces up for grabs include the ‘Office Chair for the new economy’ by Johanna Grawunder, 2006, the ‘Best Test 1-400’ (or ‘Computational’ chair) by Philippe Morel, 2004, and Atelier van Lieshout’s ‘Prick Lamp (Black Thick)’, 2007. Other highlights include works by Marilyn Minter, Vik Muniz, Terence Koh, David Lachapelle and Damien Hirst to name a few.
With these themed auctions, Phillips de Pury & Company is attempting to present selections of art, photography, and design, reflective of certain themes in contemporary culture. NOW focuses on the rich body of expanding mediums from varied sources, disciplines and materials that have come together to define our current epoch.
