Talk: Design In Adversity
25th September ’09, 8:30-9:30am (breakfast served from 8am)
Sackler Centre, V&A Museum
Cromwell Road, London
The Financial Times and the London Design Festival present a forum to consider design in our current climate.
Important creative movements are often born in troubled times. Examining a series of significant ideas and products that came out of previous downturns and speculating about what the current malaise might inspire, the forum will consider questions such as: Will designers use the economic downturn as an opportunity to turn away from commerce? Will companies become bolder? Will on the fittest survive?
Discussing these issues and more will be: - Tom Dixon, Jaime Hayon, Deyan Sudjic, and Nigel Carrington.
Tickets for the talk cost £12, £10 concessions, (includes breakfast) and will be available soon from www.vam.ac.uk
