If you happen to be in and around Amsterdam this weekend why not pop into Platform 21’s Repair it Yourself workshop.
As part of their ongoing exhibition ‘Repairing’ Platform 21 presents a workshop which invites participants to bring in their broken things and recieve brilliant ideas and methods to fix it yourself.
For this Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can mend the holes in your sweater
with the wool filler of Heleen Klopper, give your ceramic or plastic doll new limbs as inspired by the work of Jan Vormann, or try out one of the improvisation repair kits by buro buurvrouw.
When it is impossible to repair your product on the spot, you are invited to leave it behind with a Fix Me! label. Platform 21 might just be able to find the repair specialist who can help you.
Platform 21 aims to raise awareness about the mentality and beauty of repairing. Don't end it, mend it!
