Beginning with his time in design school, Internationally acclaimed Dutch designer Maarten Baas has had the support of many.

From Design expert and trendspotter, Li Edelkoort, to design dealer Murray Moss, Baas has had a steady stream of continuos encouragement and instrumental promotion helping him gain the level of status that he enjoys today.

For this year’s Design Miami/Basel Talks, Li Edelkoort, Murray Moss and Maarten Baas will discuss the relationship between designer and mentors/patrons, as well the risks and rewards that go hand in hand with supporting young designers.
