For this year’s Milan Design Week British designer Tom Dixon will unveil his latest collection of furniture and lighting inspired by the notion of Utility.

Using some of the most basic materials and heavyweight industrial components, Dixon’s 2009 collection demonstrates the virtues of robustness and honesty. A concept ripe for the times.

Featuring pressed glass lighting, stone tables, and vitreous enamel occasional tables, Dixon’s collection is a refreshing take on the idea of truth to materials and longevity in design.
