See the Light
30th January - 9th August '09
Danish Design Centre
HC Andersens Boulevard 27, Copenhagen
The Danish Design Centre presents ‘See the Light’, an informative and fascinating exhibition about future lighting design.
With an emphasis on sustainability and quality, the exhibition presents an epic landscape of light installations, where visitors can explore the universe of light and interact with the latest technologies.
As lamps are replaced by luminescent surfaces built into furniture, wall, textiles and floors, the light that we are used to seeing our work, our food and each other in is disappearing.
In film clips that are part of the exhibition, experts discuss our basic understanding of daylight as well as future scenarios where lighting will become an instrument for personal communication as well as mass communication.
