Flight Number Ten
15th November - 30th November 2008
Saint Étienne
France
Flight Number Ten is an illustration of the way European designers see changing trends in societies, customs and in ways of living everyday life.
As one of the main features of the 2008 Saint Étienne International Design Biennial, the exhibition will bring together a mix of European and international designers offering alternatives and answers to complex social issues and changing lifestyles.
Made up of three sequences, firstly Flight Number Ten will pay tribute to designers who have taken part in, and had particular effect on the history of the Biennial over the years since 1998. Secondly, it will highlight the works of emerging European designers in partnership with Culturesfrance as part of the European Cultural Season, and thirdly, it will present the work of designers living and working from other continents.
The event will also include two Tandem exhibitions showcasing works from French, Finnish and Czech designers, details of which can be found on the website, biennalesaint-etienne
