This weekend sees the beginning of Creative Cities Summit, a three-day exploration into how communities around the world are integrating design innovation to create vibrant economies.

The Summit which was first held in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2004, this year comes to Detroit to highlight its significance as a city shaped by the industrial revolution.

The event which will host over 55 speakers, will examine the benefits of urban revitalization with special attention paid to social entrepreneurship, sustainability and culture and business in achieving strong creative economies.
