Forming part of ‘Design Event 08’, the UK’s North East annual design festival, ‘Gothic’ is an exhibition which aims to bring together design, craft and fine art that reflects a renewed interest in the macabre, the exotic, the fantastic and the disturbing.
Exploring a new sensibility in product and 3D design, the exhibition presents new works by designers, including Timorous Beasties, Suck UK, Mixko, Cohda, and Stephen Einhorn, who utilise high-tech processes and materials to rework images and ideas associated with the northern European romantic imagination in art and literature.
