Helsinki Design Week 2008
25th September - 6th October '08
Various venues
Helsinki, Finland
Pleasing the eye, challenging the mind, celebrating form and function - this year, Helsinki Design Week brings light to the city both metaphorically and in practice.
With 'Light' as the theme of this year's annual festival, contributors will be expressing this through their works, brightening everything from installations to urban spaces.
This year’s main event is Show 100, a design exhibition portraying the year’s top 100 interesting products and concepts, from Finland and abroad, and from all angles of design: interior decoration, furniture, lighting, architecture and graphic design.
During the 12 day Week visitors can expect to see a diverse program of events, including exhibitions, seminars, workshops, design markets, open-door visits to studios and closed-for-public spaces, as well as the infamous Pecha Kucha and a whole host of celebrations by night.
The buzz of the festival may have left Brussels and be fading here in London, but for those of you not quite ready to stop, we suggest you head east to continue the chase!
