Gr3en Design - Reduce – Reuse – Recycle
12th September - 30th September 2008
Pierre Bergé & associés
Brussels
Pierre Bergé & Associés present Green Design, an exhibition focusing on Finnish, Belgian and Dutch designers and companies that are producing work made from recycled materials.
Both established pioneers of the field and designers of the younger generation are taking part in the exhibit that will run in Rotterdam and Brussels until the 15th September. The work on display will not only address the green ideology but also recognise traditional values of design and aesthetics.
Among the materials that have been re-worked, are old washing machine drums, inner tubes and seat belts, as well as discarded sleeping bags of the Finnish army and old blankets from the women's jail. Participating exhibitors include: Secco (FIN), Globe Hope (FIN), Evolum (FIN), Design Huominen (FIN), Hella Hernberg (FIN), Krejci (NL), Bart Baccarne (BE), Christiane Hoegner (BE), remix!/Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen (BE), Antoine van Loocke (BE) and Studio Hergebruik (NL).
In addition to the exhibition, a series of conferences will be held throughout the month discussing the economical and political aspects of ecological design within the design industry. For more information and exact dates visit www.finncult.be
