Design Auction at Sotheby's Paris
31 October '17
The Design autumnal sale will illustrate the diversity and the wealth of the creations of the 20th century: from the Art Nouveau ̶ with an impressive dining room table by Louis Majorelle, to the 50’s with many major works of Jean Royère such as the set of living room furniture Ours Polaire. The sale will also present an original and never seen before piece of Decorative Arts: a rock-crystal head by Joseph Csaky, made in 1925 and coming from the Jacques Doucet collections.
From the glassware of Emile Gallé to the poetic sculptures of François-Xavier Lalanne, including Line Vautrin, Diego Giacometti, Jacques Adnet, Ado Chale, Michel Boyer, Georges Jouve or Victor Horta, the sale will give an exceptional overview of the history of the 20th century Decorative Arts.
