Art/Talking.... A Monthly Project Led by Artist and Art Educator Nadia Berri
Next Visit May 6th 2016
'art/talking' is a venue based, monthly project, aimed at exploring the variety and depth of the London Contemporary Art Scene as well key themes in current contemporary art practice.
From Nadia:
We will visit collections, foundations, institutions, artist studios, galleries, alternative spaces and artist-run spaces and each visit will be announced via email and on DeTnk
The visits are choreographed and led by myself. My approach is conversationalist and participatory and visits will culminate in discussions and conversations around a particular topic supported by my research and experience in the field.
The next visit will be on 6th of May from 11am to 1pm and we will visit three young, cutting edge galleries around Soho:
Southard Reid
7 Royalty Mews
London W1D 3AS
Herald Street
37 Golden Square
London W1F 9LB
Project Native Informant
17 Brooks Mews
London W1K 4DT
Southard Reid is showing Hany Armanious and our contextual theme there will be 'use of the real'. Herald Street will be having a group show in collaboration with a young German gallery and, apart from exploring and discussing the work in the show, we will look at why and how young galleries work together in this way. Project Native Informant will be showing GCC Collective where I will give you an introduction to 'the artist collective' before we look at the show.
We will be meeting at 11am in front of Southard Reid.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Cost: £30 per person
