Ford 021C Concept by Marc Newson Reappears at Gagosian Gallery
News from the Web
Rarely do concept cars get a curtain call — and even more rarely do they still seem fresh. But the designer Marc Newson‘s Ford 021C, introduced at the Tokyo auto show in 1999, is back. It is on display as part of “Transport,” an exhibition of Mr. Newson’s designs at the Gagosian Gallery on West 21st Street in Manhattan.
The 021C has not become dated. If anything, it looks fresher since it was displayed at the Milan furniture fair before taking to the auto show circuit — first in the orange whose Pantone color chart number lent the car its name, and later in a more fashionable green.
