Sotheby's upcoming Arts Décoratifs du XXe siècle & Design auction will take place at the Galerie Charpentier in Paris on 25 November 2014 and features a strong selection of furniture and objects from the Art Nouveau period to the present day.
The Art Deco session features rare works by Jean-Michel Frank (Property from a Private American Collection) with a straw marquetry cabinet and an Alberto Giacometti green Infini ceramic vase from a private collection, never before offered on the market.
Also included in the sale will be pieces from the pre-war classic era by celebrated designers such as Paul Iribe, Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann, Gustave Miklos, Rembrandt Bugatti and Jean Besnard. Finally, pieces by some of the most influential and visionary designers from the 1950s until today such as Jean Royère, Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé, François-Xavier and Claude Lalanne, Shiro Kuramata and Ron Arad, will be offered.
