Beautiful Yucatan Home By Reyes Ríos + Larraín Arquitectos
Interior Architecture and Design
The beautiful Bacoc Hacienda located on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula is derived from an old, stone sisal fiber factory which was built sometime in the late 1800s.
Retaining the original shell of the property, Reyes Ríos + Larraín Arquitectos converted it in 2006 from a modern rustic ranch dedicated to livestock and beekeeping, to the gorgeous family home depicted in these photos.
Renewing the property meant adding gorgeous water gardens around its exterior, casting concrete walls which were then covered in stucco made from the local red earth, and using local tree resin for the pigment. The final result is a picaresque property, marrying its rich heritage to modern ambition.
