Alfred Street by Studio Four
Interior Architecture and Design
Celebrated multidisciplinary team Studio Four crafted a light and peaceful home in Melbourne; focusing on raw materials and unambiguous lines to differ each space.
It’s interesting to notice how some interior design projects manage to showcase specific material or color to achieve an unique aesthetic, most times limiting the variety a style can achieve if not used properly. It’s not the case for the house on Alfred Street. The white palette present throughout each room serves as the foundation but not as some kind of canvas, but as a feature itself. White is unashamedly used to great effect.
Wood is used as the common denominator to furnish each space, present in many forms and sizes. From tables that serve as bridges from the outside patio to the kitchen, lovely toys, as bedside tables, to raw timber on a modern bathroom. Pale oak is the shy but very charming supporting role in this project.
