V&A Village Fete
25th July '08 - 26th July '08
John Madejski Garden
V&A South Kensington, Cromwell Road, London
Forming part of the V&A’s Friday Late programme, The Village Fête at the V&A is one of the most eagerly anticipated cutting edge design events of the year.
A carefully selected group of young British designers are invited to conceive and run the stalls, providing an extraordinary array of creative, fun, engaging and imaginative events and games. It’s a unique event, where everyone can join in - families and children as well as the creative community.
Place your bets at Carl Clerkin's roulette wheel; play Helium Karaoke with Rob n Dave; pimp your plimsoll with Ruth Bartlett; dance to Michael Marriott's groovy tunes; pop balloons; play musical statues; enjoy foam topiary and wobble jelly building; and get your very own Banksy (or not?).
Fête veterans Rob Ryan, Digit, Tatty Devine, Poke, Priestman Goode, Bump, Fibre and Europa will be joined by a host of newcomers including Prick your Finger, Not Actual Size and Jellymongers.
Conceived of by the V&A and Scarlet Projects’, the V&A Village Fête is a truly contemporary take on the traditional English fête.
Spaces are limited so come early.
Opening Hours:
Friday 25 July 18.30-22.00 & Saturday 26 July 13.00-17.00
Entrance to the Fête is £3, with 50p concessions.
