Explore Sites and Sounds
21st June '08
Exhibition Road
London, SW7 2RL
The London Festival of Architecture will join forces with Music Day for a Midsummer Celebration of Architecture and Music.
While the whole of Exhibition Road will be closed off to traffic, visitors will be invited to explore the sites and sounds of the many performances, exhibitions, workshops, and events happening in the area.
Music performances will bring the street to life while installations and activities will show how architects experiment and create new ideas and structures.
The days highlights include 6A Architects and Brompton Estates, who are creating pop-up architecture; Penoyre and Prasad are interpreting the greatest Victorian prefab, the Crystal Palace, using helium weather balloons; workshops and opportunities to participate giving hands-on fun for all ages, and over 150 live performances including German electro punk act M.I.A, Bollywood Dance workshops and rock back British Sea Power.
Please note: Events in Exhibition Road will end at 18:30 though many Music Day performances elsewhere in the area will continue through the evening.
