Robert Stadler: Bifurcations
18th June - 19th July '08
The Carpenters Workshop Gallery
3 Albemarle Street, London, UK
Bifurcations, Robert Stadler’s first solo show at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery, offers a comprehensive look at his production from 2004 to today.
The exhibition, named after a scientific phenomenon denoting the moment when a system starts to change direction and continues in a new, uncontrollable mode, features highlights such as ‘Polls & Pouf!’, a series of different sized leather elements which challenge the tradition of furniture while likening it to a parasite of the home, and ‘24h’, a hybrid between a light-box photograph and a mural clock. Once the viewer has detected the indicators of the hours and minutes, they will be able to read the time.
