From the Gallery:
Gallery FUMI is proud to show LIKO, Zoé Ouvrier's latest work. LIKO is an impressive 8 meters long installation of intricately hand-carved wood panels that can function as room dividers. The work depicts tree forms blowing in the wind across the seasons.
Zoé Ouvrier was born in Montpellier, France and studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Ouvrier’s work uses traditional methods in book and scroll making to engrave natural materials. With nature as her inspiration, she creates exquisite carved wooden folding screens, tables as well as paintings. Each piece is unique and is a result of many hours of intensive engraving.
