Moss has announced that, after 18 years of business, the New York City shop will close on February 17th 2012.
Murray Moss told the New York Times that he felt that the shop had become 'a free museum' and that 'the old paradigm wasn't working.'
Looking to the future, Moss is planning to continue his design consultancy which has assisted in developing shows such as 'Industrial Revolution 2.0' at the V&A.
Beyond the consultancy Moss has also announced that he will continue to promote and sell contemporary design in a smaller space.
