Opening next week, on the 18th of November at the Design Museum in London is ‘Less and More: The Design Ethos of Dieter Rams’. This show will be the first UK retrospective in over 12 years to focus on Rams’ iconic 40 year career.
Last week the 24th annual Tokyo Designers Week took place in Japan. Highlight exhibitions included 100% Design Tokyo, Container Exhibition, and the Student Exhibition, which were all held at the main Venue in Jinu Gaien.
New works by Martin Szekely entitled ‘Heroic Shelves & Simple Boxes’ will be on display at Galerie Kreo in Paris from the 7th November to the 19th December.
As their title suggests this new collection of ‘Simple Boxes’ by Szekely is an intriguing exercise in design simplification and ecological sustainability.
Although Carol Vogel is primarily concerned with sales of Fine Art in her most recent article for the International Herald Tribune, she gives an insightful examination into the current state of the world’s major auction houses that has implications for their Design sales as well.
