Carnovsky presents 'RGB wallpaper'
Through February 10
Johanssen Gallery
Berlin
Don't miss Italian studio Carnovsky's current exhibition at Johanssen Gallery, Berlin, where they show their latest designs of fantastical wallpaper, which reveal different layers of image according to the colour of light shone upon it.
After unveiling their original version at Milan Design Week earlier this year, which was created for Janelli & Volpi, they have built upon the technique to create the latest design and again received rave reviews.
The RGB wallpaper is created by layering printed images in the colours red, green and blue. When lit in any of these colours, two of the layers become invisible and the one remaining appears revealed.
Aside from the experiential aspect and interesting technique at work here, the designs are worth seeing in the real for their sheer intricacy and detail in their depiction of natural history inspired scenes.
The wallpaper is available to purchase at the gallery, along with playing cards and limited edition prints.
