Paul Cocksedge's "Kiss" Comes to Covent Garden
Opens 11 November '10
For those of us who missed Paul's holiday installation "Kiss" last year in Milan, we have been granted a second chance to kiss a partner, friend, or maybe even a stranger under thousands of blinking lights!
This year Paul has been commissioned to bring his very popular installation to London. Londoners will all have their chance to kiss under the installation's mistletoe setting off the trees 50,000+ LED lighting system.
Paul's work has been popping up all over London over the past few months. During London Design Festival, Paul's piece "A Gust of Wind" was on display at the V&A. Consisting of three hundred curvaceous pieces of CorianĀ® . The curved 'pages' appear to form stack of paper that has been blown into the air by a gust of wind. Each of these limited edition pieces is initially engraved and then hand-formed by Paul. Cocksedge suggests the resulting pieces, which were given away to the public as part of the event, will function as paper trays, becoming 'a place for wandering paper to gather'.
If you can't make it to Covent Garden or prefer to do your kissing in private, let me remind you that the DeTnk.Shop is selling "Light as Air" by Paul Cocksedge.
