Tokyo Designers Week has become a landmark on the international design calendar, a this year, being its 25th anniversary, promises to be its most impressive. The event expects over 100,000 visitors, and thousands of designers and artists.
This year’s theme for Tokyo Designers Week has environmental roots; it is titled ‘Love Blue,’ which follows on last year’s successful ‘Green’ theme. Gwenael Nicolas, the designer of the event chose blue because of its reference to, ‘the sky and sea, which unite the land together’.
Exhibitions incorporated in this year’s Tokyo Designers Week
include a professional exhibition, a student exhibition, a container exhibition, a tent exhibition, and several others. The Cube exhibition is a unique challenge for aspiring designers to show their work within a 1 meter square.
Tokyo Designers Week takes place in one of the most innovative and exceptional cities in the world, and naturally the event will feature inventive and unique exhibitions and shops.
