On the 28th of September, Phillips de Pury in London will hold its third Design sale for 2010. Phillips has included few contemporary pieces in their sale, and many mid-century works, which could prove to be a real indicator for the movements of the design market in 2010.
Highlights include Max Ingrand’s Pair of Chandeliers, model no. 2088, estimated £25,000 - £25,000, as well as Shiro Kuramata’s Glass Chair designed in 1976, estimated £35,000 - £25,000.
Also up for grabs is a new work by Thomas Heatherwick, Billet 1- Extrusion 5 Bench, created in 2009 and estimated £32,000 - £38,000 along with wide range of works by early and mid-century staples such as Pierre Jeanneret, Alvar Aalto, and Paavo Tynell.
