Following the success of their European launch during this year's Milan Design Week, Meta will celebrate their first collection of contemporary objects and furniture in the U.S. with a week-long exhibition in New York.

The new company, founded by Mallett, one of the world’s most prestigious antiques houses, marries 21st century design with traditional workmanship and the finest materials.

For their inaugural collection leading designers Asymptote (Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture), Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, Matali Crasset, Tord Boontje and Wales & Wales were commissioned to collaborate with more than 50 artisans from around the world.

The resulting contemporary masterpieces will be on view at the Openhouse Gallery in New York May 13-17, 2008

The New York exhibition will evoke a contemporary Garden of Eden and will include the world debut of four new works by Tord Boontje, Matali Crasset and Asymptote.
