Sensing Nature
24 July - 7 Nov '10
Mori Art Museum
Tokyo
Tokunjin Yoshioka, Takashi Kuribayashi, and Taro Shinoda interpret the subject of the Japanese perception of nature and display it in the Mori Art Museum. The exhibition opened July 24 and will continue through November 7.
The three Japanese artists/designers have created abstract and symbolic expressions to intangible concepts and natural phenomenon such as snow, water, wind, light, stars, and other elements of nature.
The imagery used suggests that these concepts of nature incorporate all life-forms, including humans. Each work included is a newly commissioned work by the artists, created with an idea to stimulate our sense of nature through large scale installations.
