New Simplicity
24th July - 8th August ’10
203 Brompton Road
London, UK
On the 24th of July, an interesting exhibition, titled “New Simplicity”, will be temporarily on view in London’s Brompton Design District.
The show presents classic and simple designs in juxtaposition with many new objects that exploit the latest Rapid Manufacturing technologies in order to highlight the importance of this “New Simplicty” in contemporary design.
Quoting Galileo, the organizers of the show explain “Nature does not multiply things unnecessarily: that she makes use of the easiest and simplest means for producing her effects: that she does nothing in vain, and the like.”
The show will feature the work of both established and emerging international product designers, who are all unified by their shared belief in the pursuit of simplicity. The list of designers on view in “New Simplicity” includes Jasper Morrison, Sam Hecht, Alex Hulme, David Sutton, and Min-Kyu Choi with his award winning Folding Plug.
