This year Design Miami/Basel will run from June 15 to 19 alongside the 41st edition of Art Basel. At the centre of the event is a marketplace of limited edition design from an impressive range of international galleries including Contrasts Gallery Shanghai, Droog New York, Galerie Kreo Paris, and Nilufar Milan.

Over the years Art Basel has become one of the largest and most influencial events of the art industry’s annual calendar; however, it is only recently that Design Miami has begun to make its mark on the design market. Already in its 10th year, Design Miami is still maturing, but with a bigger brother like Art Basel, it is sure to meet expectations. This year the event promises to continue its maturation with even more distinguished exhibitors.

More than 30 design galleries from all over the world will be included this year, all featuring the highest level of design.  The fair will also include a unique section, On/Site, that Detnk feels is a must see, which features small scale, high level exhibitions of new work by individual designers or studios.  The On/Site area will give viewers a chance to see some of the latest high end designs being introduced for the first time.

The majority of objects on sale date from the twentieth century with a strong representation of work by contemporary designers. There will, however, also be a small selection of galleries offering displays of exceptional 18th and 19th century antiques.
