THE RESULTS ARE IN: Wright's Important Design sale

Wright's latest Important Design sale took place the 8th of June in Chicago and ended with good results. This sale titled, Important Design, gave collectors an opportunity to focus purchases on high quality works.
Over all 164 lots were sold of the total 290 resulting in a 57% lots sold result. This auction house focuses on middle market sales, and this shows the market still has room for improvement.
Included among these was one of the top earners of the sale Lot 657, Gio Ponti, Diamond Sofa. The lot was estimated at $30,000 - $40,000 and sold for an impressive $60,000.
Oher highlights included Jean Prouve’s Standard Desk, no 21, which sold for $57,500 with an estimate of $40,000 - $50,000 and a Joaquim Tenreiro, cabinet, which sold for $40,000 with an estimate of $10,000 - $15,000.
From the lots sold, one can see collectors are looking for quality, but they are beginning to risk more on contemporary works.
