A Car by Koons
2 June '10
BMW will unveil their 17th BMW Art Car by Jeff Koons at the Centre Pompidou in Paris on June 2. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the BMW Art Car series.
Over the years, the BMW Art Car series has included commissions from Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, and Robert Rauschenberg.
Jeff Koons drew on historical race car graphics for inspiration when creating his design that will transform a BMW M3 GT2 model. The car will be on view to the public at the Centre Pompidou for one day before competing in the 24-Hours of Le Mans circuit race in France.
