On May 14, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York City will open the fourth exhibition in their National Design Triennial series that began in 2000.
This year’s show, Why Design Now, explores the work of designers who try to address some of today’s most pressing sociological issues in their work, including problems with the environment, global communication, and social equality.
The show is organized by Cooper-Hewitt curators Ellen Lupton, Cara McCarty, Matilda McQuaid and Cynthia Smith, and it will run until January 9, 2011.
