El Ultimo Grito: Dialogues
26th March – 1st May ‘10
Aram Gallery
Drury Lane, London
Now on view at the Aram Gallery in London is an exhibition of work from design studio El Ultimo Grito entitled, ‘El Ultimo Grito: Dialogues’.
The exhibition celebrates the launch of the design team’s new book, ‘Abandoned Architects’, and it features 3 three recent collections of work in blown-glass, resin coated cardboard and honeycomb mounted photographs that reuse famous quotes.
El Ultimo Grito, or EUG, are best known for
their reinvention of objects and large-scale installations. The works on view
at the Aram Gallery continue in these themes but develop them into a more
socially conscious realm. A highlight of the show is an installation of large hand-blown
glass objects based on architectural archetypal forms.
The exhibition is curated by Daniel Charny and Zeev Aram. It is the first time this body of work from EUG has been shown in the UK.
